John Mayer - Heart of Life (Acoustic)

I loved this song when I first heard it and then it took on a whole new meaning to me.  The chorus is my favorite.  It rings very true!

Pain throws your heart to the ground
Love turns the whole thing around
No, it won't all go the way it should
But I know the heart of life is good

Life's ups and downs

Over the past year I have been through so much.  I have learned a great deal about myself and others, some good, some not so good.  It is a process.  My husbands surgery this week, I am hoping is the last of our difficulties for a while and we will be able to truly enjoy our life as a new family.  I believe that it is all a learning process and we balance it all.  The good, the bad and the ugly.

Through my grief of losing Lia, and learning what friendship truly is, I believe I am making changes for the better.  You just don't know what life will hand you.

More blooms

I have been going through old pictures of mine and found this one.  I love the crisp white against the yellow and green.  This was taken in Lambertville, NJ.  My husband went there for a long weekend after we were married, and then revisited in the spring.  Maybe I should be a florist!  Well, we have our garden outside, but it is mainly vegetables.  I am watching them all sprout under the grow light in our basement!  I love fresh garden vegetables to eat!

Stop and smell the flowers!

Baby Feet

I love baby feet!  They are just so cute.  I zerbert them and kiss them and tickle them.  Aside from the Mets bib in the  background I think this picture is perfect.  I am a Yankee fan, but my husband is a Mets fan.  We try to be fair.  I can't wait to watch those baby feet grow, but somehow I don't think teenage feet will be quite as cute!

Lia's Butterfly

A fellow blogger, Bree, who has also suffered a pregnancy loss makes these beautiful butterflies to honor other babies lost.  She is currently pregnant now so say some prayers for her!  I know that I will.  I know how difficult it is to be pregnant after a pregnancy loss.  The innocence and excitement of the pregnancy are taken from you because you think about all the things that could happen.

Sesame Street: Andrea Bocelli's Lullabye To Elmo

I saw this the other day and it really made me laugh!  I think Andrea Bocelli has an amazing voice and Elmo is Elmo.  I just love it.  Anything that makes you smile!  I have worked with preschool kids and now that I have a newborn, I just keep thinking of all the different songs that we would sing.  It's fun, but I can't remember them all.

A Day in the Park

This week I went to the park with another new mom.  She has a 10 week old daughter.  It felt so good to be out.  I got there early and brought my camera.  The tulips were in bloom and it was a perfect day.  The colors of the flowers were just so pretty!  I love the colors of nature!  There was  a nice breeze and white fluffy clouds scattered in the sky.  It was so good to be there and out around people.  I was taking pictures, but also watching parents and older children and seeing what I have to look forward to.

Something Pretty

My husband and I found this terrarium at a garage sale a few years ago.  We tried to plant it ourselves, but we were not successful.  It's been sitting in the window for quite some time and I finally decided to do something about it.  We brought it to Main Street Nursery and asked them to plant it for us.  We picked out plants we liked out of the suggestions given to us.  I love the orchid!  Instead of another plant they suggested we put a small statue.  I love the little snail in there.  I look at it and it makes me smile!

Converse

I keep saying that I am going to buy myself a pair of Converse and this weekend I finally did, along with four other pairs of shoes.  I think it all started when I was in 7th grade and my mom bought my brother a red pair of Converse high tops and I really wanted a pair and for some reason she wouldn't let me get them.  Now I am rebelling!

Lia Rose's Tree

Last year we planted a tree in memory of our daughter Lia Rose.  It is in bloom now and I look out of the back window or patio doors and I see it.  The petals are blowing in the wind and it makes me smile to watch them flutter.  The day we had her memorial service it snowed a bit here.  As my husband and I were driving up to the cemetery there was a snow squall with huge snowflakes.  The petals blowing in the wind remind me of that.

Blooming into me

I have been taking photographs of flowers for quite some time. I am not sure what it is about them that draws me, the colors the shapes, but I have come to the realization that I have a lot of photographs of them. Some of these photographs are better than others. I love the colors in this one. The contrast of the yellow and dark purple against the pale purple. These were taken on Easter Sunday before they were planted in my parents backyard.

Maybe I am just trying to bloom into me!

More flowers to come!
