The view from the back of our house for the week.
The lighthouse up close
Wild horses on the beach!
The 4runner does a great job on the beach

As I sit here in the quiet of my house (the baby is sleeping and my husband is back at work) I am missing the people surrounding me on our beach vacation.  There were two houses and lots of family.  My parents were there and my husbands mom.  There were 5 of his siblings there for most of the week and one showed up for a day when we were leaving.  Most of the kids were there too. JP got to hang out with lots of his big cousins and one little one.  My husband has 18 nieces and nephews on his side of the family, including JP.  It was great to have so many people around to play with and watch JP.  It gave me a little break and I got to see how he interacted with others it was pretty cool.  He is great at giving smiles!

The beach was awesome!  The pool was fantastic!  JP loves the water, I think he is a natural.  The views from everywhere were just so gorgeous.  I think  my favorite part of the trip was taking the 4runner on the beach to see the wild horses.  I didn't think we would, but sure enough they were there.  We even went back to see them the next day.  I tried to get video of the horses galloping on the beach, but they didn't gallop for very long.  I was really hoping to see that.  My other favorite was how much JP's cousin M took care of him.  She is 10 and could not get enough of him.  I tried to really let her help as much as I could.  We even let her "babysit" for a little while we went food shopping.  My parents stayed too, but she felt so good about helping.  It was so sweet.

I sit here in the quiet and I almost want the noise and excitement of the vacation back.  I have a week left before I return to work and have to leave the little guy for much longer than I would like to.  I am trying not to think about it and hoping maybe I win the lotto.  I know he is in great hands with my mom.  That makes it easier.  More to come....

  1. What a memory making vacation you had! Things can seem so quiet after that much family excitement :)

The wild horses on the beach are fantastic! Makes me want to run wild with them and frolic in the sand...

Enjoy the rest of your vacay. I always felt I needed another one after coming home!!

  2. It's always so hard (leaving the little guy). Someone once told me that if you don't feel the pain, you don't feel the love, and I cannot tell you how many times I think about that, concerning situations with my kids. You are very lucky to have extended family nearby to be sure he is in good hands. Enjoy the rest of your vacation!!
